Caprice bubble gum is a soft-paste chewing gum sold as small blocks, each wrapped in pink and yellow paper. The maker, Société des Produits de Sucre Caprice, produces it in Aïn Benian near Algiers, alongside the caramels and tender sweets that built the brand from 1965 onwards. The taste is fruity and the texture stays pliable for a long time: this is a bubble gum rather than a breath-freshening one.

For shoppers it is a pocket purchase, bought singly or in a bag to share. The Arabic name printed on the pack, « لبان بالون », says exactly what it is for: balloon gum. It speaks first to children and teenagers, and instantly to customers who grew up with the brand.

Why list it

  • A confectionery brand every Algerian shopper knows, still rare on French shelves.
  • A classic impulse item, suited to tills and counter displays.
  • Individually wrapped blocks allow both loose bulk sales and closed bags.
  • Completes the Caprice tender sweets and sticks: three lines, one brand block.
  • Steady turnover all year, rising through the school year and at Eid.

On the shelf

Shelve the bag in confectionery, near the tills or in the world-food section, at child height. Group it with the other Caprice lines so the brand reads at a glance. Store at room temperature away from sunlight: heat softens the paste and makes it stick to the wrapper.
