Spicy hmiss

Hmiss is the Algerian cooked salad served at the start of a meal: chillies pounded with tomato, garlic and olive oil. Hill offers the hot version, made in its artisan cannery from hot chilli, tomato, vegetable oil, salt, olive oil and a natural preservative. The heat is clear but controlled and the texture stays soft. The jar carries the halal logo and a « Made in Algeria » flag.

Consumers serve it cool as a starter with home-style bread or kesra, using the bread as a spoon. It also goes with grilled meat, couscous or pasta, and is eaten by the spoonful with olives. The 190 g jar is stored dry and keeps in the fridge once opened.
