Warda coquillettes are small shell-shaped pasta made in Sousse, Tunisia, from 100% durum wheat semolina. They cook in eight to nine minutes and keep a firm bite. The red 500 g bag with the rose logo also carries the word 'Shell' for English-speaking shoppers.
This is an everyday pasta, the one children ask for and the one used for quick meals. Plain with butter or cheese, baked in a gratin, or tossed in a Tunisian-style tomato sauce with tuna and harissa, it works for anything. The hollow shape holds light sauces and the dressing of a pasta salad well.
Why list it
- Universal shape that appeals to all shoppers, beyond the world-foods aisle.
- Fast, steady rotation all year with no marked seasonality.
- Trusted brand for Tunisian customers, who prefer it to generic labels.
- 24 × 500 g bags per case.
On the shelf
Place Warda coquillettes with the brand's other short pastas (coudes, escargots, fell) to form a red visual block that is easy to spot. In a North African grocery, position them near tuna, tomato paste and harissa, the ingredients of the classic Tunisian sauce. In the kitchen, cook in plenty of salted water, drain and serve at once.
